Hi! I’m Natasha!
I married my husband, Gary, on May 15, 2010.
We spent that summer just hanging out, enjoying married life before I went back to school. In Fall 2010 I started law school at SMU Dedman School of Law. It was a loooong three years, but I finally graduated in Spring 2013.
In 2014 I started working for a law firm and dealt primarily with CPS cases. In November 2015 I started my own firm – the Law Office of Natasha Combs – which sounds way fancier than it is. Really it’s just me representing kids and parents in CPS cases and doing adoptions. But I LOVE my job! I get to be a work at home mom, be my own boss, advocate for kiddos, and build families.
In May 2015 we began doing foster care. In May 2016 we accepted placement of a sibling set of three kids. Those kids are set to become Combs kids forever on June 23, 2017!
In December 2015, we started our infertility journey. After two failed IUI’s, we pursued IVF. We transferred one of our four perfect embryos in August 2016, and Everly Joelle was born on April 19, 2017. She has fulfilled one of the deepest desires of my heart and become one of our very greatest joys in this life.
And that’s us – the Combs family.
As for the blog, I started it back when Gary and I got engaged so I could keep track of momentous occasions, such as our engagement, wedding, and travels. It didn’t really see much action, however, until we started foster care and I found myself with words that needed to be written down. Now I use my blog to document not only our journey through foster care, but also infertility, parenting, and just life in general. It has become a cherished corner of the internet to me, and I really hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
