If you’ve ever seen me post something regarding the “BFBN” and wondered what exactly I’m talking about, this post is for you!
What is the BFBN?
In 2007, Valerie started her blog, Chronicles of a Babywise Mom, in order to help parents with their Babywise questions. The internet was not a friendly place for Babywise inquiries and she wanted to be a voice for people who needed help and encouragement.
Four years later, in 2011, she decided to expand that vision, her thought being, hearing from one person who does Babywise is nice, but wouldn’t several be even better? So she started the Babywise Friendly Blog Network. Her vision was to have a group of bloggers who all follow Babywise who could work together to create one massive resource collectively for Babywise parents. Everyone has different life experiences in general, and this is especially true in parenting. Among all of us, we could more fully address the needs of parents out there.
Nearly 6 years later, the Babywise Friendly Blog Network (BFBN) is stronger than ever! We have had so many great bloggers join over the years, and we have a fantastic group today. There are 26 children (plus 2 on the way!) represented in the current group of bloggers – so there is a TON of advice to be found amongst the blogs. Everyone’s take is a little different, but consistent with babywise at the same time, which is the thing I love the most about the BFBN.
Right now we’ve got eight fantastic BFBN bloggers. I’ve written a little intro about each of them plus linked to three of my favorite blog posts of theirs so you can get to know them a bit!
Valerie blogs at Chronicles of a Babywise Mom and founded the BFBN. She has four kids, Brayden (12), Kaitlyn (10), McKenna (8), and Brinley (almost 5). She started doing babywise with her first child, so she not only has a ton of parenting experience, but also lots of Babywise experience as well. Because of that, her blog is a such a wealth of resources for parents. She has a post for practically every topic you can think of and every question you can come up with. Her blog has been my “go to” resource since we started babywising our people over two years ago.
Emily blogs at The Journey of Parenthood. She is married to Zach and has three kids, Kye (8), Britt (6), and Tess (almost 3). She loves Disney and a good deal. Her personal parenting style is structured but fun with a focus on making memories together as a family, which is reflected in her blog. I love how she is real and practical and gives you a good glimpse into her life as a mama! You can easily feel like you know her after reading her blog.
Kimberly blogs at Team Cartwright. She is married to Pat and has three kids, Benjamin (3), and Alison and Samantha (17 months). She blogs to help parents find solutions that work for them and fit into each family’s individual priorities and is passionate about helping people embrace STEM fields and get past their fears of math and science specifically. She always has fun activities for her kids that highlight how much these fields are a part of their daily lives.
Carrie blogs at Wiley Adventures. She is married to Kyle and has four kids, Laura Kate (9), Shepherd (6), Fischer (almost 5), and Archer (2). She’s got a thing for Disney and is a travel planner specializing in Disney Destinations. She loves a good schedule and is passionate about raising her kids to be world-changers, which are just reasons I love her blog. Also, she’s one of my REAL LIFE BFF’s, and it’s super fun to blog with her.
Katrina blogs at Mama’s Organized Chaos. She has a 2.5-year-old daughter, Caroline, and a baby due in December. She is passionate about breastfeeding on a schedule, but also used cloth diapers, made her own baby food, and loves baby wearing – which may seem like a dichotomy to some, but this just goes to show you that babywise is so inclusive on so many different levels. Katrina has blogged in detail about Caroline’s first year of life, documenting all her milestones – big and small – which makes her blog a great resource for all your big and small questions.
That’s me! I blog here at Let’s Be Brave. I’m married to Gary and mama to three adopted kiddos, Laurel (almost 7), Bennett (5), Christopher (2), and one IVF babe, Everly (2 months). I love God and people, wine and ice cream, and books and games. When I’m not busy parenting my people, I like to lawyer it up on the side – I do CPS and adoptions – and I love my job. I’m an extreme extrovert and open book aka oversharer, which makes blogging a perfect outlet for me. We’ve fostered seven kids over the last two years, ages newborn to seven, and I used babywise for every single one of them.
Cole blogs at Twinning Babywise. She is mama to four kids, Vera (4), Abel (2), and Mercedes and Samuel (1). She loves to cook and read, and she survived the first year of four kids under the age of three and loved it! All thanks to babywise, which she says she’d be dead without. She’s a straight-forward, no nonsense kind of mama – a mama after my own heart – so I really love her blog.
Caitlin blogs at Rogers Party of 5. She is married to Ben and has three kids, Theo (3.5), and Josie and Margo (16 months). She loves eating healthy, but also has a love for fancy cupcakes. She doesn’t sugarcoat things – my kinda girl – and strives to make her blog judgment free zone.
