We spent the last few days on a Mississippi beach with the Wileys! It was so fun! I needed the rest and sunshine and to see my friend more than I realized.
The drive to Bay Saint Louis was about 8 hours. It wasn’t so bad!
At one point I told all the kids to close their eyes and take a nap, and they were out 15 minutes later. That earned us a couple hours of peace and quiet!
The house was so beautiful and perfect! The pictures on the website didn’t do it justice even a little bit so we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived.
The kids were so excited! Our kids have never been to the beach before so they were anxious to get their toes sandy and experience the ocean for the first time.
The first day was SO bright and sunshiney! We set up this gazebo tent for some shade. The babies spent a lot of time there, but the big kids were busy collecting shells and catching hermit crabs and building sand castles!
During naptime Carrie and I got to read on the beach. It was so peaceful. I could almost FEEL my cup being refilled. Reading on the beach is my happy place, made even happier with by being with my friend!
This girl turned 6 on Thursday so we celebrated her birthday at dinner. Her only requests were pasta, brownies, and a LalaLoopsy baking oven (no idea what Lalaloopsy is btw) so that’s what we did!
Our second beach day was really cloudy. That morning we went out for a little bit, but then went in early and let the kids watch a movie.
We’ve got three out of four “readers” so lots of our time was spent reading. Poor Gary, he didn’t love it.
In the afternoon it got a little sunny so we got to go play. We buried the kids and gave them mermaid tales, and they did some good ol’ fashion hole digging.
On Saturday we packed up and headed to the Wiley’s house. Loved getting to see my friend’s home! Carrie and I stayed up until 2:30am talking and laughing and crying and just being together. So good for my heart.
This beach trip was our first family trip with these four littles. It was so good to have time away to just enjoy them and enjoy being together. It was especially good to be with our friends that we haven’t seen in awhile. This trip turned out to be so much more than we thought it would. Such great memories were made!
