Happy Monday, friends! Most of our weekend was uneventful, but the tail end of it was a BLAST!
Friday I was still on bed rest so I spent the day reading in bed. Not gonna lie – it was like a little staycation for this mama.
I got to read a whole book in basically one sitting! My only distraction was this little babe’s embryo picture. I had stuck it in the back of my book, and I kept taking it out to look at it and singing a song from Friends in my head – “Are you in there little fetus? In 9 months will you come greet us? I will buy you some Adidas.” (In case anyone was wondering, I was reading Deep End of the Ocean by Jacquelyn Mitchard).
Saturday morning and afternoon looked a lot like this – resting and napping and hanging out around the house with the kids.
Saturday night we had friends over for dinner so the kitchen table was full of kiddos!
Sunday was full! We had Rhett over in the morning so that his parents could have some uninterrupted time to get his baby sister’s room ready before she arrives. We love this little friend!!
We also had some friends over to swim for basically the entire day.
Jordan and I have been BFFs since we were like 9 years old.
Laurie and I were roommates our freshman year of college.
Avery (Jordan’s daughter and my goddaughter) was so helpful with Curtis. He definitely loved that this big girl played with him in the pool! CUTIES!!!
The dads and the kids had a water gun fight. These kids have fun dads!
6 hours of swimming later, we made them go inside to change and watch a movie so they could rest because everyone missed their naps. Then things got eventful – we lost a lot of car keys (our own and our friend’s who was parked in front of the driveway) so we couldn’t leave the house and Abigail took a headfirst tumble down the staircase, which was really scary (ended up with a small concussion). We ended up missing church, but we got to spend time with some friends we don’t get to see very often.
After dinner, we headed to my friend Andrea’s house to go to the lemonade stand they hosted for Mission Regan. Mission Regan collects supplies, medication, and medical equipment for people locally and globally who are in desperate need of those things. It turned into a straight up PARTY – we had such a blast!
We’ll be hosting our own lemonade stand for Mission Regan in a couple weeks so be on the lookout for that announcement! Have a fantastic week!
